Motivation: | Wavrinsky was nominated for his contribution to the peaceful dissolution of the Swedish-Norwegian Union in 1905. He was chairman of the Swedish Peace and Arbitration League.

President of "Ligue de la Paix et de la Liberté" and editor-in-chief of the journal "Les Etats Unis d'Europe" from 1891. Vice-president of the French delegation to several international peace conferences initiated by the International Peace Bureau. |
